I’d say a good percentage of cabin owners own crokinole and if not have had some sort of experience flicking wooden discs across its board. It is more than likely tucked in an old closet where board games go to die or in the rafters of the boat house. Crokinole meshes carrom, marbles and elements of shuffleboard and curling on a small circular playing surface. The earliest known crokinole board was made by craftsman Eckhardt Wettlaufer in 1876 in Perth County, Ontario, Canada. And if you are a seasoned veteran of crokinole I suggest you participate in the World Crokinole Championships held in Tavistock, Ontario home of inventor Eckhardt Wettlaufer. If you do participate I am sure we can work out a sponsorship.
The guys over at Cottage Life run a feature called Brojects. This particular one looks like it could be a good time basically marrying crokinole and Canada’s favourite pastime, hockey. If someone wants to make one for me that would be great. I feel like this would be a perfect way to burn an evening when the weather outside is not co-operating.
Is that goal regulation size or what. Jeeze.
